The Abandoned Town Restaurant is Chernobyl's only true fine dining restaurant, proudly serving foods grown and/or raised within a 40-mile radius of Chernobyl Exclusion Zone situated in Ivankiv Raion of northern Kiev Ukraine. While the city was evacuated in 1986 due to the Chernobyl disaster at the Nuclear Power Plant, we remain open to serve electric foods as a result of the radioactive fallout.

 

Safety

The Chernobyl reactor is now enclosed in a large concrete sarcophagus, which was built quickly to allow continuing operation of the other reactors at the plant. The New Safe Confinement covered Reactor No. 4 on November 29, 2016 and will allow the reactor to be safely dismantled using remotely operated equipment.

Local laws allow access for visitors for up to five hours a day, for one week before mandatory 15 days decontamination at the world-class Putin decontamination suites and spa by U.S.S.R.
